Hofstra Men’s Basketball going on Southern Road Trip

The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will start a two-game southern Colonial Athletic Association road trip that will start on Thursday as the team takes on Elon.

The start of the game between Hofstra and Elon is set for 7:00 p.m.

Hofstra holds a 13-8 overall and a 6-2 CAA record, after the team’s 70-46 victory over UNCW on January 19. Things were back and forth with the Pride being able to tie the scoreboard up at 30 at the half before going on a run. It was in the Second Half that the Hofstra Defense was able to stand tall allowing the fewest points in a half since George Mason tallying 16 on March 5, 2006.

Helping to lead the way for the Pride in their victory over UNCW was Tyler Tomas, who had 28 points, seven assists which are both season highs.

Elon comes into the game with a 2-18 record, while having a 0-7 mark in conference play. The last time the Phoenix were in action they saw a tough 66-62 decision to Towson this past Saturday.

The Pride have a 11-5 overall mark against Elon, and have been able to split the regular season series with their CAA rivals a year ago. Thus far the Pride have been on a bit of a roll as they have been able to win six of the last eight games in the series. When Hofstra and Elon met for the first time, it was during the 2009-10 campaign with the Pride coming out on top with a 70-46 victory in the NIT Season Tip-Off.
