New York Liberty edge out Las Vegas Aces 116-107

Trying to beat one of the best teams in the WNBA in the Las Vegas Aces is always a tough task, but the New York Liberty were able to figure out a way on Wednesday, as the team had a 116-107 victory.

This was the first of a three-game season series between the two teams, as the Liberty was able to finish with a franchise-record 116 points, while also recording a WNBA-record tying 35 assists.

There were also several other impressive stats for the ladies, that included the fact that they were able to finish 57.5% from the field, they also had a season high 58.1 from beyond the arc.

It was a total team effort that helped the Liberty get the victory, as five were able to finish the game with double figure scoring.

Starting off the leaders was Sabrina Ionescu, who had a game-high 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Han Xu followed with a career-high 24 points to go along with a career-high-tying eight rebounds and three assists.

There were also three other ladies who had themselves an impressive outing. The first was, Natasha Howard finished the night with 18 points, six rebounds and three assists. Stefanie Dolson had 11 points, three assists and one rebound and Marine Johannes had 11 points to go along with a career-high nine assists.

Up Next for the New York Liberty the ladies will be participating in their first back-to-back matchup this season, New York heads to Phoenix to take on the Mercury on Thursday, July 7 at 10 p.m. ET.
