The Baltimore Orioles will host the team’s Fall Instructional League camp at the Ed Smith Stadium Complex in Sarasota, Fla. beginning on Monday, October 5. The Instructional League program focuses on specific individual development while providing additional playing time to accelerate a player’s progress through the minor league system. The roster of players participating in this year’s camp is listed below.

The club’s farm system ranks as the eighth-best in baseball and includes five players listed among the Top 100 prospects, according to MLB Pipeline. Catcher ADLEY RUTSCHMAN (No. 2), RHP GRAYSON RODRIGUEZ (No. 31), Outfielder HESTON KJERSTAD (No. 55), LHP DL HALL (No. 64), and INF/OF RYAN MOUNTCASTLE (No. 90).

The 2020 season featured Major League debuts by three Orioles listed among the Top 30 prospects in the organization, as rated by MLB Pipeline. Mountcastle (No. 5), RHP DEAN KREMER (No. 10), and LHP KEEGAN AKIN (No. 15). Mountcastle’s 2020 campaign was rated as the 10th-best rookie season by MLB Pipeline after batting .333/.386/.492 and ranking among American League rookie leaders in several offensive categories.

“Our Instructional League camp allows us to further develop and evaluate young players in our system,” said MIKE ELIAS, Orioles Executive Vice President and General Manager. “Our farm system’s recent improvement reflects the hard work of many people and the organization’s commitment to excel in domestic and international scouting and player development. This group of 55 players will gain invaluable experience while in Sarasota this fall.
