It wouldn’t be a stretch to call them the RITveters now.
After signing Kendall Cornine and Mallory Rushton over the last week, the Metropolitan Riveters today added defensive forward Brooke Baker from the Division I program at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Baker completed her 123-game, four-year college career at RIT earlier this year.
“Brooke is the kind of determined, gritty and responsible player Coach Ivo Mocek and I believe is a perfect fit for the team we are building,” said Riveters general manager Kate Whitman Annis.
Asked to describe her style of play, Baker said, “I consider myself a defensive forward who is relentless and hard-working.” She added, “I’m really looking forward to a great season ahead.”
Prior to RIT, Baker – a native of Saline, Michigan – developed as a player with the Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles and played in the Little Caesars program.
