They close out their season with a four-game road trip out west, starting with a matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks (18-13) at the Staples Center, with tip scheduled for 10:30 p.m. and the game to air on the MSG Plus channel.

Tina Charles’ 20.1 points per game rank seventh the league (as of 8/13).

The Sparks have won seven of their last eight regular season matchups against the Liberty.

On August 8, 2018, Chelsea Gray scored 19 points for the Sparks as they hung on to beat the Liberty, 82-81.

Sugar Rodgers hit a pair of threes with under 10 seconds to play to make it interesting, but the Sparks did their job at the free throw line as they held off the comeback attempt.

Tina Charles led all scorers with 27 points, while Rebecca Allen and Amanda Zahui B both chipped in 13 points off the bench.

Due to various injuries, the Liberty had just eight available players for Sunday’s matchup against the Dream. As a result, Tina Charles played the entire contest for the first time this season, finishing with 26 points. The veteran is currently tied for second in the league with 33.1 minutes per game.

Despite checking in at 5’9”, Brittany Boyd has proven to be one of the better rebounding guards in the league this season. Among players under six feet, Boyd ranks fourth in rebounding with 3.8 per game. Her nine rebounds against Atlanta on Sunday set a new career high.

In five of the last six games, the Liberty have entered halftime either tied or with the lead. However, they have been on the losing end of each of those matchups. Over that span, New York is averaging 42.8 first half points, compared to just 32.5 after the break.
