The New York Mets announced on August 5 that the club has placed RHP Anthony Swarzak on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to August 4, with right shoulder inflammation and recalled RHP Jacob Rhame from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Rhame will wear #35 and will be available for today’s game.
Rhame, 25, is 0-1 with one save and an 8.00 ERA (16 earned runs/18.0 innings) in 18 games with New York this season. He was also 1-2 with nine saves a 3.76 ERA (11 earned runs/26.1 innings) in 20 games with Las Vegas.
Swarzak, 32, is 0-2 with three saves and a 6.00 ERA (14 earned runs/21.0 innings) in 22 games for New York this year.
