Binghamton Rumble Ponies Wrap-Up July 11

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies enter into the All-Star Classic with a 43-44 record, having taking two out of three games against the Portland Sea Dogs before winning three of five games against Eerie Seawolves.

Here are some of the highlights

Game 1 versus Portland Sea Dogs on July 1 a 4-3 victory for Binghamton

Josh Allen hit two doubles. Pitcher Marcos Molina allowed one run on six hits over five innings in the no-decision

Game 2 on July 2 a 5-3 loss

Tim Tebow had two singles.  On the mound Nabil Crismatt sat down eight batters over 5-2/3 innings

Game 3 on July 3 a 2-1 victory

Kevin Taylor recorded a double. Justin Dunn struck out nine over a career-high 7-2/3 innings on the hill for Binghamton.

 

Game 1 versus Eerie on July 4 7-5 victory for Binghamton

John Mora recorded a double. Starter  Beau Burrows striking out four batters.

Game 2 12-9 loss

Levi Michael hit a homer. Pitcher Joe Cavallaro made his Double-A debut after a recent promotion from Columbia (Low-A). The 22-year-old tossed five innings, giving up nine hits and five runs. He set down the first eight batters he faced before a two-out third-inning rally got the SeaWolves on the board.

Game 3 a 3-0 victory

Josh Allen recorded a hit. Pitcher Michael Gibbons had six scoreless innings on the mound.

Game 4 a 10-0 loss

Andrew Ely recorded two hits. On the mound Ricky Knapp made his first Double-A start of the season.

Game 5 a 8-6 victory

Tomas Nido recorded a homer. On the mound Justin Dunn made his sixth Double-A start, totaling five innings on Sunday, giving up four runs on six hits

 

Going into the All-Star Classic

Tim Tebow, Levi Michael, Nabil Crismatt, Daniel Zamora, and Patrick Mazeika will represent the Rumble Ponies at the All-Star Classic, hosted by the Trenton Thunder on July 10 & 11. It marks the second straight season Bing- hamton sends five to the All-Star Game. All five Ponies will enjoy their first trip to the Eastern League All-Star Game. Zamora and Mazeika played in the FSL All-Star Game last year.

UP NEXT: Binghamton returns to the diamond on Thursday, July 12, following the Eastern League All-Star break. The four-game set at Canal Park in Akron gets started at 7:05 PM.
