The St. John’s men’s basketball team will square off with Georgia Tech on Saturday, Dec. 1, at AmericanAirlines Arena as part of the fourth-annual Hoophall Miami Invitational. Highlighting the four-game event hosted by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the Johnnies and Yellow Jackets will meet for just the 10th time in their series history and for the first time since 2013 at Barclays Center.
“We are excited to compete in the Hoophall Miami Invitational next season,” said Head Coach Chris Mullin. “It is an honor to be part of another first-class event hosted by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. This presents an opportunity for our team to face a top-tier opponent at a premier basketball venue before the conference season opens.”
The 2018 Hoophall Miami Invitational will also feature matchups between Miami and Yale, North Carolina State and Vanderbilt, as well as Texas Tech and Memphis. ESPN has partnered to televise the event, with game times and tune-in information to be released at a later date.

St. John’s owns a 5-4 record in its series with the Yellow Jackets that dates back to 1970. In their last meeting in the Barclays Center Classic on Nov. 30, 2013, the Johnnies upended Georgia Tech, 69-58, behind a game-high 21-point effort from D’Angelo Harrison and 16 points from JaKarr Sampson.
Tickets will go on-sale to the general public on Monday, June 11 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.com or by contacting the AmericanAirlines Arena box office. Citi Pre-Sale will be available June 5-10.
