David Villa scored twice in helping New York City FC earn a 3-1 victory over FC Dallas in Major League Soccer action at Yankee Stadium.

For Villa the goals in the match were #400 and 401 of his amazing career. For NYCFC, the victory tonight was the first ever over FC Dallas, giving the boys in blue a P9 W6 L1 D2 record through nine games.

It was an impressive and much needed result for NYCFC, who needed to respond after the first loss of the season , a tough 1-0 decision to the Portland Timbers. Dallas had entered the match as the last team with an undefeated record in the MLS.

Netting the first goal of the game was Jesus Medina, as the boys in blue looked aggressive early on in the match.

Villa netted the 400th goal of his career during the 36th minute marker, as a video review assessed a penalty kick for New York City FC. The Captain sent the FC Dallas keeper the wrong direction, and put him in the same milestone plateau as  Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Luis Suarez.

The second goal for Villa was just as impressive, as the striker showed how hungry and determined he plays by fighting for the ball inside the box.

New York City FC have only been defeated once at Yankee Stadium in 12 months of Regular Season Play, and was able to return to the top of the Eastern Conference standings with the victory tonight.
