There has always got to be nerves on the first day, especially when you have an opportunity to perform or play in front of a crowd in a Big Time City like Brooklyn.
Getting the first game under your belt is a huge achievment, and is something that may go a long way as the 2017 Brooklyn Cyclones games progresses.
For now though, the team as well as what was an amazing crowd was delt with a 7-4 loss to rivals the Staten Island Yankees in New York-Penn League action at MCU Park.
Catcher Carlos Sanchez was one of four Cyclones recording a hit during the course of the game, while also bringing home two runs. Jacob Zanon, Reed Gamache, and Ian Strom all were able to tally hits in the Season Opener.
This edition of the 2017 Cyclones will now get a full taste of what it is like in New York-Penn League, as they will have three games on the road in Vermont, before returning home to MCU Park to host Hudson Valley in a game scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
