New York City FC Notebook: Photos and Videos from Training along with Preview for Philadelphia Union

As they enter the most critical time of the season, the New York City FC as a club had some much needed time to rest up their banged-up players. Now the team is getting ready to embark on a four-match stretch over the course of two weeks.

Starting on Saturday, as the team has a home-and-home with the Philadelphia Union prior to welcoming the Portland Timbers three weeks later at Yankee Stadium. On April 24 NYCFC will head to Chicago to conclude the month.

NYCFC is looking to rebound from a 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City on March 28; but are going up against a very hungry Philadelphia Union team who are looking for the first win of the MLS Season as well as their first victory at home.

Head Coach Jason Kreis updated the media during a training session on April 10 on the health of his club. Fans can expect Captain David Villa along with midfielder midfielder Sebastian Velasquez and defender Josh Williams sometime soon.

For fans of Philadelphia they have had some bad news as starting goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi was benched and given an indefinite leave of absence. It is expected for John McCarthy, the 2014 USL Pro Goalkeeper of the Year, will start on Saturday.

Leading the way on the offensive side for NYCFC is Villa, who is currently ranked  first on the club in shots (14), shots on goal (7) and goals (1). Keeper Josh Saunders, who was named Etihad Airways Player of the Month of March has 11 saves on 14 shots made.

The offense for the Union is led by Fernando Aristeguieta, who is currently ranked first shots (19),  shots on goal (9) and goals (3).
