For the fifth time this season, D’Angelo Harrison has been recognized with a BIG EAST weekly honor as the senior guard was named to the conference’s honor roll on Monday.
Harrison averaged 28.0 points, while shooting 50.0 percent (19-of-38) from the floor in two conference games last week. The senior added 4.5 rebounds to go with 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists. Harrison also shot 77.8 percent (14-of-18) from the charity stripe.
After shooting 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the field en route to matching a game-high with 25 points in the conference-opener against Seton Hall, Harrison shot 47.6 percent (10-of-21) and matched a season-best with a game-high 31-point effort against Butler.
A two-time BIG EAST Player of the Week and a three-time honor roll selection already this year, Harrison ranks second in the league and 13th in the nation with 20.3 points per game. Harrison ranks both fourth on the all-time St. John’s scoring list and fourth among active players with 1,885 points.
St. John’s returns to action on Jan. 6 at Madison Square Garden, hosting Villanova for a 9 p.m. game on FOX Sports 1.
