Cosmos Signings and Free Shuttle for Fans

The New York Cosmos are getting closer and closer to their opening match on August 3. Adding more depth and making a greater experience for their loyal fans.

It was announced by the franchise on July 17 (Wednesday) that forward Alessandro Noselli is now the newest addition to the roster.

Noselli, 32, started his career with his hometown team, Udinese, but most recently played for Sassuolo in Italy’s Serie B. Durig his four seasons with Sassuolo, Noselli scored 38 goals in 99 league appearances, including a single-season career-high 18 goals during the 2009-10 season.

“Alessandro will be a very positive addition to our forward line,” head coach Giovanni Savarese said. “He’s a proven goal-scorer who was productive in Serie B and can help lend his experience to our younger players.”

“I’ve been training with the team the past few weeks and have been really impressed with the level of play,” said Noselli. “The Cosmos name has so much history and New York is an incredible city, so it’s long been a dream of mine to live and play here.”

It was also announced on July 16 (Tuesday) that the team will also offer free rides form the Mineola LIRR to Shuart Stadium and back.

These shuttles will be running for all of the 2013 fall matches; will offer a safe way to see their favorite team.  For those who are driving out to the matches all passenger car parking cost $5 and must be paid in cash. Handicapped parking is available in select parking lots.

For those traveling by bus parking cost $25 and must also be paid in cash.

Things are shaping up quickly for the Cosmos historic home opener as they will face long-time rivals the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the home opener on August 3. Prior to kickoff, the Cosmos will honor legendary players Pele and Carlos Alberto in a special on-field ceremony.
