Liberty Sign Free Agent Warley Waive Ford

The New York Liberty announced on Monday that the team has reached an agreement with free agent center Avery Warley.

Warley is in her second season in the WNBA, after spending 2012 with the Phoenix Mercury. She saw action in 28 games with three starts, averaging 3.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

“Avery has some experience in the WNBA,” said Laimbeer. “She is a solid player and we look for her to help give us a boost in the frontcourt.”

Warley will take the roster spot that was vacated by forward Cheryl Ford, who was released this past weekend. Ford signed with the Liberty as a free agent in March, but was sidelined with a left knee injury.

New York will return to action on Sunday, June 23 as they will play host to the San Antonio Silver Stars at 3:oo p.m. at the Prudential Center.
