Mets Announce Judges for Banner Day 2013

The New York Mets announced on Monday the three judges for the 2013 Banner Day, which will be held on Saturday, May 11 at Citi Field. Acting as the final word on who will win will be Mets Ambassador Edgardo Alfonzo, SNY Field Reporter Kevin Burkhardt and 92.2 NOW’s Ty Bentli.

Those fans who wish to purchase tickets for this renewed tradition can do so now, as there are tickets starting at $12 available and can be picked-up on Mets.com and 718-507-TIXX.

The three judges will select three finalists to join the online Banner Day winner, then the fans at the park and at home will vote for the winner through texting, Twitter and Facebook. Fans creating the winning banner will receive four VIP tickets, the opportunity to watch batting practice from the field, Mets autographed merchandise and in-game recognition at a mutually agreeable game.

Banner Day was a long standing tradition for the franchise from 1963-1996 with fans of all ages parading on the field showing off their Mets Pride. The tradition was renewed last year as a part of the Mets’ 50th Anniversary Season.

Fans planning on participating in the pre-game, on-field parade on May 11, should follow these guidelines:
