Islanders vs. Sabres 4/26/13

Here are some notes for those fans who are getting ready to watch the New York Islanders (24-17-6) who are on the road getting ready to wrap up the regular season against the Buffalo Sabres (20-21-6) in NHL action tonight.

New York and Buffalo have split the first two of a three-game season series, as the Islanders are looking to end the regular season on a winning note. The guys are 21-13-5 in their final game of the regular season and 19-16-4 in their final road game of the season.

Islanders Recap:

John Tavares scored his 28th goal of the season and Kevil Poulin stopped 28-of-30 shots, but the Islanders fell 2-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers on 4/25. The loss marks the Islanders first regular season defeat since March 30 at Pittsburgh.

Still Road Warriors:

The New York Islanders are still on pace for the best road winning percentage in franchise history. A point tonight will help the guys make history in making this year the best point percentage on the road.

Nabokov Notes:

Evgeni Nabokov has been in the cage for the Islanders for 40-of-47 games this season. He is one win shy of the league lead with 23. With 335 career victories Nabokov ranks third among active goalies and 18th on the all-time wins list.

The Islanders and Sabres game is set to air on the MSG Plus Network, with face-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
