Jets re-sign Folk add Colon and Garay

The New York Jets announced on Saturday that they have re-signed unrestricted free agent kicker Nick Folk, while also signing guard Willie Colon and defensive lineman Antonio Garay.

Folk has spent the last three seasons with the Jets after joining the team as a free agent on 2/23/10. In six career seasons, Folk have appeared in 94 games and has converted on 134-of-172 field-goal attempts (77.9%) and all 242 PAT tries. In 2002 Folk kicked in 16 games and hit 21-of-27 field goals and all 30 of his PAT attempts.

Colon, who is a graduate of Hofstra University and a Bronx, NY-native entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection of the Steelers in the 2006 NFL draft, and spent the last seven seasons with the Steelers. He has started all 62 games in his career.

Garay, who is a graduate of Boston College and a Rahway, NJ-native, joined the NFL as a six-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2003 NFL draft. The seven-year NFL veteran has played the last four seasons for the San Diego Chargers. Garay has started 28-of-56 career games and has accumulated 164 tackles, along with nine sacks in 2012; he played in eight contest, while notching 17 tackles and a sack.
