Here are some notes as the New York Knicks (28-15) take on the Milwaukee Bucks (24-20) in NBA action at Madison Square Garden on Friday.
This will be the third of a five-game homestand for the Knicks, while also being the second of three meetings against the Bucks. New York is looking to extend a three-game winning streak against Milwaukee.
New York was paced by Carmelo Anthony’s 29.0 points and eight rebounds in one battle against Milwaukee. Steve Novak posted 19 points on 7-for-10 shooting (5-7 3P) in one game against the Bucks.
Anthony has been on fire for the Knicks, helping to lead New York to a 113-97 victory against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. Carmelo led all scorers with 20 points and seven boards and five assists over 39 minutes. That was Anthony’s 30th consecutive 20-point performance, which was a franchise best.

New York has always played pretty well on the first of February. In 1984 Bernard King recorded 50 points with seven rebounds, leading the Knicks to a 105-98 victory at Dallas. While in 1998, Larry Johnson recorded 35 points in an 89-83 national television victory over Miami at Madison Square Garden.
