Here are some notes for those watching the Brooklyn Nets (22-15) who are set to host the Toronto Raptors (14-23) in NBA action at the Barclays Center on Tuesday.
If the Nets win it would set the mark for the longest winning streak of the season (seven games), while tying their longest streak at six. It would also be the third consecutive victory over Toronto this season, while also pushing the Nets record to 11-3 against the Eastern Conference at the Barclays this season.
Thus far the Nets have been undefeated in the month of January, and defense has been the key as the team came up huge holding the pacers to a 11 point fourth quarter, which was an opponent season-low for the final period.
Brooklyn’s defense in the fourth quarter in the last two games has been the best per any quarter this season. They have been able to hold opponents to season lows in the fourth quarter scoring in consecutive games.
Helping to lead Brooklyn in their 97-86 victory over Indiana on Sunday was guard Deron Williams who recorded a team-high 22 points with a game-high nine assist, while also grabbing five rebounds.

Williams, who has always been known for his charity work off the court, but his shooting from the charity-stripe has been on fire as of late, as the guard has not missed a free-throw in seven games.
Brook Lopez continues to be the center of attention for the Nets, as he was able to record 15 points (10 of those coming in the fourth quarter). Lopez continues to sit first in the NBA in scoring among center (18.4 ppg).
