Things are not looking good as NHL Lockout extends to regular season play

Things are not looking good for hockey fans of the world, as the lockout has now begun to interfere with regular season play.

The NHL announced on Thursday that they are now going to cancel the regular season schedule through October 24. Fans of the Rangers and Islanders that means that the first two weeks of the regular season will not be played.

National Hockey League Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly issued the following statement:

“We were extremely disappointed to have to make today’s announcement. The game deserves better, the fans deserve better and the people who derive income from their connection to the NHL deserve better.”

Daly continued by saying, “This is not about winning or losing a negotiation. This is about finding a solution that preserves the long-term health and stability of the League and the game.”
