Kranepool to appear on Long Island in support of Citi Tuesday promotion

New York Mets-great Ed Kranepoolwill be the next Alumni to support the Citi Tuesdays promotion on July 3. Kranepool, who was a part of the ’69 Miracle Mets club that won the World Series and a part of the Mets Alumni Association presented by Citibank, will be at the Citibank branch at 300 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station from 12-1:30 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs.

The Citi Tuesdays program, was something started by Citibank to provide added value to Citi customers and Mets fans. Thus far the promotion has had such greats as Edgardo Alfonzo, Ron Swoboda, Mookie Wilson and Art Shamsky all interact with fans in various parts of New York.

Kranepool, who is a New York-native and a lifelong member of the Mets, was on hand as a part of the Mets Alumni Association for the SNY Play Ball Grant Ceremony earlier this season. The graduate of James Monroe High School still holds several records in the Amazin’s history book, including hits (1,418), pinch hits (90), sacrifice flies (58), games played (1,852) and at-bats (5,436).
