The New York Rangers (17-8-4) have dropped their second straight game in a 4-1 decision to the St. Louis Blues (18-9-3) in NHL action on Thursday night. Starting a three-game road stretch on the wrong note, the Blueshirts could not solve the blueline of St. Louis in the loss.
Patrik Berglund (7) and David Perron (2) gave the Blues a 2-0 lead with goals in a four minute span in the first period of play. The Rangers’ responded when Michael Del Zotto (3) tallied a backhanded shot at the 16:18 mark, which was assisted by Brandon Dubinsky (12) and captain Ryan Callahan (10).
St. Louis answered back in the final frame as Alexander Steen (10) and Jason Arnott (5), tallied goals for the 4-1 Blueshirts loss. New York keeper Henrik Lundqvist made 32 saves, while also recording a .914 save percentage in the game.
New York will now continue this road trip, as they head to Phoenix to take on the Coyotes on Saturday. The Rangers/Yotes game is slated to air on the MSG Network, with face-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
