NOTES: New York Lizards V Florida Launch 6/7/14

Here are some notes as the New York Lizards (3-2) are getting ready for a huge road game versus the Florida Launch (3-2) in Major League Lacrosse action on  Saturday, June, 7 2014.

Defenseman Tim Henderson rejoins Lizards from Military Inactive:

After a year and a half on the Military Inactive list, defenseman and US Army Second Lieutenant Tim Henderson was moved to the Lizards 25-man active roster for last Friday’s game against Boston. Henderson rejoined the Lizards after serving nine months in Afghanistan in 2013 and recorded two ground balls in his return.

Gurenlian approaches 2,000th face-off attempt:

Heading into Saturday’s game, Greg “Beast” Gurenlian has taken 1,973 face- offs since he first entered the League in 2006 with the Rochester Rattlers. So far in his career, Gurenlian has won 1,114 face-offs, giving him a .565 win percentage.

Drew Adams approaches 800th save:

Heading into Saturday’s game, goalie Drew Adams has made 776 career saves. With just 24 more saves, he will make the 800th of his career.

Gurenlian ties Vlahakis as Lizards GB leader:

Face-off specialist Greg “Beast” Gurenlian is currently tied with Peter Vlahakis as the Lizards all-time ground ball leader with 356 each. With his next ground ball, Gurenlian will take sole possession of the title.

The game between the New York Lizards and Florida Launch is set to have a live video on CBS Sports, with the face-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
