On a beautiful Sunday morning at Citi Field 100 residents of Newton, Connecticut had a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in a Baseball Clinic that was put on by the folks at Citi and the New York Mets.
With a combined 50 children and parents had the opportunity to set foot on the Citi Field outfield and interact with Mets players Anthony Recker, Mike Baxter and Zack Wheeler. The children got to participate in three stations worth of drills, one for hitters led by Recker; one for outfielders led by Baxter and one for pitchers led by Wheeler.
Not only did the kids get to participate in the stations but all the 100 participants got to enjoy a breakfast at the Modell’s Club at Citi Field and a meet-and-greet with the world’s greatest Mascot Mr. Met.
All the participants also were given tickets to enjoy the game between the hometown Mets take on National League East Rivals the Miami Marlins in a game that was being held that day.
